Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are custom-made caps designed to cover and restore the shape, size, strength, and appearance of a damaged or weakened tooth. Often made from materials such as porcelain, ceramic, metal, or a combination of these, crowns are used in various situations, including after root canal therapy, to protect a fractured tooth, or to support a dental bridge. The procedure typically involves two visits. During the first appointment, the dentist will prepare the tooth by removing any decay or damage, then take impressions to create a custom crown. A temporary crown may be placed while the permanent one is being fabricated. In the second visit, the temporary crown is removed, and the permanent crown is bonded securely in place. Dental crowns not only restore functionality to the tooth but also enhance its appearance, providing a natural look that blends seamlessly with surrounding teeth. With proper care, crowns can last many years, making them a durable solution for maintaining oral health and aesthetics. Regular dental check-ups can help ensure the longevity of crowns and the overall health of your teeth.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are prosthetic devices designed to replace one or more missing teeth by bridging the gap between adjacent teeth. They consist of two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap (called abutment teeth) and a false tooth or teeth in between (called a pontic). Bridges can be made from various materials, including porcelain, ceramic, or metal, and are custom-designed to match the color and shape of your natural teeth. The process typically involves two visits. During the first appointment, the dentist prepares the abutment teeth by reshaping them to accommodate the crowns. Impressions are taken to create a custom bridge, and a temporary bridge may be placed. In the second appointment, the temporary bridge is removed, and the permanent bridge is securely cemented in place. Dental bridges help restore functionality for chewing and speaking, improve the appearance of your smile, and maintain the shape of your face by preventing adjacent teeth from shifting into the gap. With proper care, bridges can last many years, making them a durable and effective solution for tooth replacement. Regular dental check-ups are important to ensure the health of the bridge and surrounding teeth.

Dentures (full and partial)

Dentures are removable dental appliances designed to replace missing teeth and restore functionality and aesthetics to the mouth. They can be complete (full) or partial, depending on whether all teeth are missing or only some. Complete dentures are used when all teeth in an arch (upper or lower) are absent, while partial dentures are used to fill in gaps when some natural teeth remain. Made from durable materials such as acrylic resin, dentures are custom-fitted to conform to the shape of the gums and the contours of the mouth, ensuring comfort and stability. The process of obtaining dentures typically involves several steps: initial consultations, taking impressions, creating a wax model for fitting, and final adjustments to ensure proper fit and function. Dentures help restore the ability to chew and speak effectively, improve facial aesthetics by supporting facial structure, and boost self-confidence. While they may take some time to adjust to, modern dentures are designed to look and feel as natural as possible. Regular dental visits are important for maintaining the fit and comfort of dentures and ensuring overall oral health.
